| karenmcdougal | At the moment I am unsure. It depends on my schedule. |
| djmartin | Hi Karen, how has the last six months as Playmate of the Year gone? |
| karenmcdougal | It is going great! I have been really busy, and I am meeting so many people! |
| blofeldt | Hi Karen. Did you enjoy your trip to Cannes? How did the French react to you? |
| karenmcdougal | I did have a great time. It was a really short stay, though. They were really impressed they got to see two Playmates walking down the street. |
| graydrake | Is there a big difference between being a Playmate and being PMOY? |
| karenmcdougal | Yes there is! First of all you obviously have more responsibility and a lot less free time. You do a lot more traveling! |
| djmartin | Karen, what are you enjoying most about being PMOY? |
| karenmcdougal | I enjoy meeting my fans the most. Especially my fans that voted for me, they got me where I am. |
| dkdallas | Who's your favorite for PMOY in '99? |
| karenmcdougal | I can't answer that. I have a couple, and I voted for both of them. I don't want to hurt anyone's feelings. |
| robert0259 | Karen, when will the Members Only area of your site be ready? |
| karenmcdougal | My site should be coming out in the next couple of days. It is a new site. The Members Only section will be coming out in about a month, though. The Web site address is www.karenmcdougal.com. Be sure and take a look -- it will be really good. I will also have online chats through my site. |
| djmartin | At what time will you be holding your online chats? |
| karenmcdougal | That is not determined yet. I will always give you fair warning, though. Those times will be on my site. Depending on my schedule, somewhere between mid-afternoon to early evening. |
| dkdallas | So are there any new videos, movies or appearances coming up? By the way, I loved your PMOY video! |
| karenmcdougal | Not at the moment. I think when my schedule opens up I would like to definitely start acting. |
| hairball | Do you think Playmates view the PMOY race as competitively as fans do? |
| karenmcdougal | I think so. Unfortunately only one of us gets it. It is definitely competitive, though. I don't think I am above any of the other girls just because I am PMOY. |
| samspade | Now that you were Playmate of the Year, what are your plans for the future, any acting in sight? |
| karenmcdougal | I don't have anything on the burner currently. I am looking forward to acting, though. At the end of this month I will be on the cover of Men's Fitness. I am actually the first woman to ever appear on the cover of their magazine. I will also be appearing in the June issue of Muscle and Fitness. |
| john1971 | How did your hometown react to your becoming a Playmate? |
| karenmcdougal | They thought it was great. They were really excited for me. I feel like a celebrity. When I do go home I try to make time for my high school friends. I actually have my ten-year reunion coming up. I am anxious to see how they will react then. |
| robert0259 | Do you miss the snow in Michigan? |
| karenmcdougal | I do not! Absolutely not! I miss the people, my friends, my family, but snow...no. |

| samspade | Karen, has appearing in Playboy always been a dream of yours? |
| karenmcdougal | I can't say it has always been a dream. I saw my first Playboy when I was in college. |
| yauleung | Who do you idolize the most? |
| karenmcdougal | I'm not the kind of person to idolize anybody. I think everyone is their individual person. I don't think anyone is better than anyone else, so why idolize? |
| samspade | That is a good way to put it Karen, is there anyone you admire? |
| karenmcdougal | Hmmm...I think I admire children. There are a lot of people, but I think I admire children the most because they are so innocent and sweet. They don't know about the problems of the world yet or racism. They are just so gentle. |
| djmartin | Karen, have you taken the car out for a burn up along the highway yet? |
| karenmcdougal | I don't have the car yet. I have no clue when I am getting the car. The one in the photo was a demo. I will let you know when I do. Thanks for asking! |

| karenmcdougal | No. Absolutely not! I don't care to go on his show. I wouldn't let him "try" to degrade me. I have better things to do with my time. |
| Yedinator | What is it like being a schoolteacher now that you have been Playmate of the Year? |
| karenmcdougal | I am not currently teaching. Teaching is my love. I just don't think that the two mix. I probably won't go back to teaching until I open my Learning Center, and that won't be until after I start acting. |
| yauleung | What made you decide to switch from preschool teacher to pose nude for Playboy? |
| karenmcdougal | I always wanted to model, and I thought Playboy would be a great place to start. I think Playboy is a classy magazine! |
| robert0259 | Karen, I have a seven-year-old boy who's a real handful.... If he wouldn't try your breaking point I don't know what would. How are you with difficult children? |
| karenmcdougal | I have a lot of patience. Every child is a different case. There are a lot of ways to deal with children: one being, time out. Robert, do you want to send him to me? |
| john1971 | How long did it take to shoot your Centerfold? Were you happy with how it turned out? |
| karenmcdougal | It took a week for the Centerfold alone. It then took two to three weeks for the December layout. It then took a month and a half for the PMOY layout. I was happy with the Centerfold. |
| dkdallas | I heard there was an amusing story from your PMOY pictorial shoot. Could you please tell us about it? |
| karenmcdougal | I had new underwear on and...I developed a rash, and when you turned around the island guy had an erection. It was like an inch away from me. Everyone was laughing. I had no idea because I was turned the other way. When I saw it, I ran. He then asked me to marry him, and I really ran!! |
| blofeldt | Where else in Europe has your PMOY reign taken you, besides Cannes? |
| karenmcdougal | Just all over the United States. |
| djmartin | Have you noticed any changes in you as a person since being PMOY? |
| karenmcdougal | No, the only changes that I have noticed is that I don't have much time to myself. I am also not working out as much as I was. I am also recovering from surgery. I was working with a broken foot for the past five months. I think it started out as a fracture, and it just progressed from there. |
| rickynine | Since becoming PMOY, what is the most unusual question you have been asked? |
| karenmcdougal | Hmmm...I can't think of anything too unusual. |
| larryt80 | Which is tougher, teaching or modeling? |
| karenmcdougal | I would have to say modeling. It is easy work, but the hours are very long. Modeling is very time-consuming. When you are teaching you are running around, and there is no waiting. |
| Yedinator | What are your favorite things to do with your free time? |
| karenmcdougal | What free time? No, actually I like to talk with my family, play with my cats and work out. I really would love to relax right now, I don't seem to get much of it. |
| dkdallas | Karen, were you at the Mansion New Year's Eve party? If so, how was it? |
| karenmcdougal | No, I was not there, because of my foot. I heard it was a lot of fun. |
| rabbit23 | Since you are pursuing an acting career...in what type of field in acting are you looking to get into (comedy...drama...etc.)? |
| karenmcdougal | I am pretty confident that I can do all of it. Why limit yourself to one thing? |
| robert0259 | Karen, if your acting career called for some serious love scenes...would you do it? |
| karenmcdougal | That depends on how far I was in my career. I would like to start off acting with my clothes on. I did already turn down a part that required love scenes. |
| yauleung | Which actor would like to act with in a movie? |
| karenmcdougal | Hmmm...Al Pacino. Chris Rock. That would be a good comedy movie. As for actresses...Demi Moore. Whoopi Goldberg. |
| robert0259 | Karen, are you close to Andy Pearlman, and what impact did he have on your career? |
| karenmcdougal | He hasn't had any impact on my career. I met him at an International Swimwear Contest, and I won a contract through him. We have remained friends. |
| slidersae | Are you going to the Mardi Gras party at the Mansion? |
| karenmcdougal | I didn't know there was a party at the Mansion. So probably not! I have to take six weeks off for my foot, anyway. |

| graydrake | Karen, how do people react when they find out that you are a Playmate? |
| karenmcdougal | They usually are always excited. I'm always amazed that people know who I am. Here is a funny story. I went to the World Series game, and I was wearing a Yankees jersey and everyone else was wearing Padres apparel, and this guy was screaming at me...until he realized who I was. Then he started being nice to me. He actually saw me on the Magic Johnson show. I wasn't going out of my way to be friendly to him. He was only being nice to me after he realized who I was. |

| blofeldt | Is there anyone special, currently, in the life of Karen McDougal? Or are such considerations on the backburner till the next PMOY party? |
| karenmcdougal | I do have somebody in my life. |
| john1971 | What were you like in high school? |
| karenmcdougal | I was a cheerleader and very quiet. I was a pretty good girl. I was sorta prissy, but I got along with everybody. |
| yauleung | What type of music do you listen to, and what are your favorite musicians? |
| karenmcdougal | I listen to all music depending on my mood. From rock, to top 40 to even Kenny G. |
| ghostwheel | Karen, I saw you briefly on E! last week -- please tell us about your visit to the Mexican Riviera. :+) |
| karenmcdougal | Actually, that was for Patróne Tequila, and it was filmed in L.A. If you look in this month's Playboy I have an article for Patróne, the same one that appeared in Vanity Fair two months ago. |
| dkdallas | Will you be attending any of the Glamourcons? |
| karenmcdougal | It's up in the air, depending on my schedule. I hope too! |
| robert0259 | Karen, if you could change any one thing about yourself, what would it be? |
| karenmcdougal | I wouldn't change anything on the inside. But I would like to stop myself from aging. I would like bigger calves, though. |
| samspade | Do you have any advice to give to the new Playmate of the Year, Karen? |

| karenmcdougal | I would tell her to clear her schedule for a year. I would also tell her to take a lot of vitamins and not to stress out if you don't have time to work out. But to definitely enjoy the time and make the most out of it. |
